What is programming language?
programming language is a language which is used to communicate instructions to a machine. eg computer.
There are five generations of programming languages and these are:
1st generation - Machine code
Machine code is the only language which the computer understands directly without translation and made up of 0's and 1's. This type of code is a low level language because it is the computers natural language. This type of language is also slow, complicated and difficult to use. Also each type of processor tree requires its unique code and this increases difficulty.

3rd generation - High-level language
4th generation - Very high level languages
5th generation - Natural language
